A new winery backed by the old wisdom of many years making wine from hundred year old vines.
They were founded in 2001 in order to produce high quality wines from the grape variety “Tinta de Toro”. The strains from which the grapes come are over a hundred years old and survived the phylloxera which caused tremendous problems in the nineteenth century.
Their philosophy in culture combines traditional farming methods with the latest technology in the selection and processing of the grapes.
The team’s commitment to quality is based on a job well done, always giving the necessary time for the natural process of the wine. Their own grapes, the French oak barrels “Allier” and softening in bottle produce our wines, named Libranza, Juan Rojo and Valdefama. These are elegant wines that blend naturally with the fruity characteristics of the “Tinta de Toro” grape, with the hints of oak.
